Threlkeld
is a small village, 5 minutes drive from Keswick, situated at the
foot of the magnificent mountain Blencathra, which is very popular
with fell walkers. The
cottage is ideally located for those looking for a picturesque base
in which to explore the northern fells with many walks and cycling
tracks right on the doorstep. There is also a children’s play area nearby and you can
watch your children at play from the rear patio of the cottage. The village also has 2 excellent
pubs both serving food.

There
are lovely riverside walks and an old railway line providing a
pleasant way to cycle or walk to
Keswick.
For keen golfers, just across the main road is Keswick golf
club, which is open to visitors.

village is steeped in history with its church dating back to 1573
